If you look at at first photo of her parents, her mother wore her hair parted and properly bun in back. 

Look at Irene's photo and she also wears her hair the same. 

I believe people think she was a Indian decent because she was wearing a shawl. I feel this mystery is solved and that we can safely say she was not Indian.  What do you think?
